This Is Why You’re Fat

April 10th, 2009

Ok, so I don’t mean to be constantly posting about large quantities of heart-attack inducing food, but I can’t help the fact that disgusting food is absolutely fascinating. Correction, totally delicious food that is likely to kill you is both fascinating AND horrifying. It’s like watching the “Saw” movies – you really don’t want to watch, but you just can’t seem to tear your eyes away.

So, the latest find?

This is Why You're Fat

Yes, I’m totally serious. This site is the essence of the American people. It touts concoctions like “The Homewrecker” (a fifteen-inch deep-fried hot dog topped with jalapenos, habanero chili sauce, coleslaw, diced tomatoes and a mound of cheese), “The Snack Pizza Bomb” (a pizza topped with french fries, sliced corn dogs, popcorn chicken, and doritos), and a “Corn Dog Casserole” (layers of hash brown patties, crumbled bacon, baked beans, corn, and french fries, topped with a layer of corn dog slices and mustard icing).

My fave?

The Taco Town Taco

The Taco Town Taco

This gargantuan taco is modeled after an SNL skit. A crunchy beef taco with nacho cheese, lettuce, tomato and southwestern sauce wrapped in a soft flour tortilla with a layer of refried beans between, then wrapped in a corn tortilla with a layer of Monterey Jack cheese in between, then a deep fried gordita shell with guacamole sauce baked in a corn husk topped with pico de gallo, wrapped in a crepe, filled with egg, griere cheese, sausage and portobello mushrooms, all wrapped in a Chicago-style deep dish pizza, wrapped in a blueberry pancake and finally, deep fried with spicy vegetarian chili dipping sauce.

Hm… Never would have thought to combine blueberry pancakes and refried beans…

If this doesn’t satisfy your craving for horrifyingly high-calorie food, check out their site. They just got a book deal too, so if you think one of your concoctions is print-worthy, send ‘em a pic!

Happy Snacking,

Fashionable Food-wear: Cabbage?

April 3rd, 2009

Whether you support vegetarianism or not, there’s no denying that this dress is the epitome of fashionable food-wear. At 82, Cloris Leachman – Emmy and Oscar award winning actress – looks stunning in this colorful cabbage gown.
